Lou started acting at the age of 10 , performing in community theaters in central New Jersey and when he was 12 he had the distinct opportunity to audition for a revival of "THE SOUND OF MUSIC" on Broadway. He aquired the part of understudy for both boy parts which he did for 6 months, performing in over 25 shows until he was asked to take over the principal role of Freidrich for another 9 months. He then auditioned for Commercials, TV, Movies, and educational films for two yrs after Broadway without a part, until he landed the role of Kevin in a small independent film called "Personal Velocity" . As luck would have it, the Movie won the grand jury prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2005. Lou's performance was noticed by his Agent and His Manager (both of whom he still works with today). Just out of High School, he landed the lead role in a film called "Thumbsucker" which went to Sundance and for his performance, Lou was awarded the Best Actor Award. It then went to the Berlin Film Festival in Berlin, Germany where Lou also Won the Silver Bear for Acting.
